Dr Belén Lledó

Degree in Biology from the University of Alicante (2000). PhD in Biology from the University of Alicante (2005). He recently completed her Master’s degree in «Biostatistics and Bioinformatics» at the Oberta University of Catalonia.

 She completes her training collaborating with the Center of Human Genetics Center (Alicante), where she  deepens her deepens her knowledge in Prenatal Diagnosis, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and genetics

After a stay at the University of Cambridge, she joined the Instituto Bernabeu (2004), initially in the Embryology Laboratory and later became head of the  Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

In 2014 she obtained the accreditation of specialisation in Human Genetics granted by the AEGH.

Lecturer of the Master’s Degree in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Alicante. Tutor of the UOC’s Master in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.

She has published around thirty articles in different scientific journals in the field of molecular biology and genetics. She has participated in more than 20 research projects, both as a principal researcher and as a collaborator.

She has participated in more than 50 national and international congresses or conferences, with papers, communications or as a member of the organizing committee.

She is a scientific reviewer for several journals such as «Human Reproduction», «Fertility and Sterility», «Reproductive Biomedicine Online», «Journal of Assisted reproduction and Genetics» and «Reproductive Medicine and Clinical Embryology».

She is a member of the Spanish Fertility Society, the Spanish Association of Human Genetics, ESHRE and ASEBIR. She’s part fo the SEF’s Work Group in Genetics.

Awarded the 2nd American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) prize for the best poster at the Congress. Award for the best oral communication at the «XXVIII National Congress of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF)» in 2010.  And award for the best oral communication at the «V, VII and XI Congress of the Association for the Study of Reproductive Biology (ASEBIR)» in 2009, 2013 and 2021.

She is currently scientific director of IB Biotech, the genetics company of the IB group.

Her scientific interests are currently focused on the genetic study of embryo implantation failure and the application of massive sequencing techniques to the diagnosis of infertility.
