Instituto Bernabeu brings its experience of ovarian stimulation at any time of the cycle to the Preis School congress in Florence

Instituto Bernabeu’s experience in the development of new ovarian stimulation protocols beyond the conventional has drawn the attention in the Preis School congress held on June 9 and 10 in the Italian city of Florence. Experts in reproductive medicine from all over Europe met at this informative meeting where new developments in the field of human reproduction were shared.

Instituto Bernabeu’s scientific director and head of continuing education, Dr Juan Carlos Castillo, has been in charge of explaining the new ovarian stimulation strategies in which the clinic is a pioneer. He did so in a lecture entitled “Random Start and progestins for ovarian stimulation: an update”.

In its constant line of study and research, Instituto Bernabeu has been at the forefront in implementing new ovarian stimulation formulas beyond the conventional protocol. This stimulation is usually started during menstruation. Instituto Bernabeu is developing experiences of starting it at different times of the menstrual cycle, in addition, in a complementary way, this strategy uses the natural hormone progesterone to prevent unexpected ovulation, replacing the injectables usually used for this purpose.  A novel combination that has aroused the interest of the experts participating in this scientific meeting. Dr Castillo presented the experiences and results of ovarian stimulation in oocyte donors. This procedure has proved to be effective as well as more convenient for donors in terms of drug intake and the possibility of being able to start stimulation at any time during the cycle.
