Success in the “1st Science, Youth and Fertility Conference” for healthcare students from the University of Alicante

Instituto Bernabeu celebrated yesterday, April 23 in its facilities in Alicante, the first Science, Youth and Fertility Conference aimed at university students from the University of Alicante, a training initiative designed to bring reproductive medicine, genetics, and biomedical research closer to the new generations of healthcare professionals.

During the conference, students had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the work carried out at Instituto Bernabeu in the field of assisted reproduction, through various sessions given by specialists from the team in our auditorium, in addition to being able to see our laboratories and facilities firsthand.

The program featured the participation of Dr. Dori Rodríguez, an embryologist from the in vitro fertilization laboratory, who addressed the role of embryology in assisted reproduction treatments. For her part, Dr. Ruth Morales presented advances in genetics and reproductive medicine, highlighting the importance of genetic diagnosis in the management of infertility.

Additionally, Marina Sánchez and Dr. Eva García explained the key aspects related to gamete donation, offering a comprehensive view of this process within reproductive treatments. In this regard, they emphasized the value of the generosity of people who donate their eggs and sperm anonymously, making it possible for other women and couples to achieve their goal of starting a family.

The conference concluded with visits to the laboratories, allowing students to see the operation of key areas of the center up close. The visit to the Andrology laboratory was guided by Dr. Eva García, while the tour of the IB Biotech laboratory was led by Ana Pay, a biochemist, and Almudena Marco, a biologist.

This initiative adds to the many activities reflecting Instituto Bernabeu’s commitment to training, scientific dissemination, and bringing biomedical research closer to future healthcare professionals.
