During the event, the gynaecologist highlighted the importance of the joint effort made by doctors and biologists in order to help patients get pregnant and explained how this is achieved at Instituto Bernabeu in Albacete. The students also gained an understanding of how to apply genetics techniques, such as pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), which facilitate detection of chromosomal and genetic abnormalities in embryos prior to transfer so that children are born healthy.
