The Rafael Bernabeu Foundation Announces 12 Recipients of the 9th Edition of Its University Scholarships

The Rafael Bernabeu Foundation, the social outreach arm of Instituto Bernabeu, has announced the names of the students awarded in the current edition of the Dr. Rafael Bernabeu University Study Scholarships. This social and financial aid program supports the academic talent of young people with excellent records who face financial difficulties in starting or continuing their studies.

With a total endowment of 45,000 euros, these scholarships are for students studying medicine, biology, pharmacy, nursing, and biotechnology. These fields are directly linked to health and biomedical research, where Dr. Rafael Bernabeu will always be remembered as a philanthropist, researcher, and a pioneering physician.

Through this initiative, the foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting university education and promoting scientific knowledge. It offers the most promising young people the opportunity to develop their full academic and professional potential under the motto, “WE HELP YOU SO YOU CAN HELP OTHERS.”

“The scholarships represent a firm commitment to equal opportunities and academic excellence. We want to continue the legacy and commitment of Dr. Rafael Bernabeu to help ensure that no brilliant student is left behind due to financial reasons,” said the foundation’s director, Sómnica Bernabeu.

The scholarship recipients for this 9th edition are:

  • Elena García Ochando, 2nd year of Nursing, CEU Elche.

The scholarships will be awarded at an official ceremony to be held on 23 October at 1 p.m. in the Auditorium of Instituto Bernabeu in Alicante, followed by a reception for the scholarship recipients, their families and representatives from the university and civil society.

The Evaluation Committee took into consideration their brilliant academic records, dedication and vocation for healthcare. It also assessed the obstacles and financial strain on their families: it was a very difficult selection process, as numerous applications with excellent profiles were received, so previous course grades, the letter of motivation and family income were decisive factors.

In addition to these grants, the Rafael Bernabeu Foundation also promotes other social, cultural, and research programs as part of its mission to create a positive impact on society.
