The Rafael Bernabeu Foundation, the social work of the Bernabeu Institute, has held the official ceremony for the presentation of its Dr. Rafael Bernabeu 2025 University Scholarships, reaffirming its commitment to equal opportunities and access to knowledge.

The event took place in the Auditorium of the Bernabeu Institute in Alicante, where the scholarship recipients, their families, university representatives, and social and cultural authorities gathered to accompany the young people on such a special day. Their presence highlighted the value of joint work between academic institutions and civil society in promoting healthcare talent.

In this 9th edition, the Foundation has granted 12 scholarships of €2,500 each, with a total endowment of €30,000, destined for students of Medicine, Nursing, Biology, Biotechnology, and Pharmacy with excellent academic records but limited economic resources that hinder their university continuity. The evaluation committee particularly valued the merit, motivation, and family economic situation of the applicants, who were received from universities across Spain.

The scholarship recipients of this 9th edition are:

  • Paula Carazo Hernández, 1st year of Medicine, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.
  • Fulgencio Antonio Sánchez Vidal, 4th year of Medicine, Universidad Miguel Hernández.
  • Julia Torres Soler, 2nd year of Medicine, Universidad de Alicante.
  • Marco Zorzano Barroso, 4th year of Medicine, Universidad de Zaragoza.
  • Helena Castillo Llinares, 4th year of Biotechnology, Universidad Miguel Hernández Faculty of Experimental Sciences.
  • Natalia Botella del Valle, 4th year of Biology, Universidad de Alicante.
  • Pablo Navarro Mira, 5th year of Pharmacy, Universidad Miguel Hernández.
  • Jorge Luis Alonso García, 4th year of Nursing, Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
  • Elena García Ochando, 2nd year of Nursing, CEU Elche.
  • Javier González Martín, 1st year of Nursing, Universidad de Lleida.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished academic, professional, and social authorities who wished to support the young scholarship students by participating and presenting the scholarships:

During the ceremony, Sómnica Bernabeu, director of the Foundation, emphasized that “these scholarships represent a firm commitment to equal opportunities and academic excellence, continuing the legacy of Dr. Rafael Bernabeu so that no brilliant student is left behind for economic reasons.”

The Rafael Bernabeu Foundation has been promoting support programs for training, research, and social action for years, consolidating itself as a benchmark for healthcare social work in Spain under the motto: “We help you so that you can help many.”
