In 2022 the Instituto Bernabeu Group renews the QH** Certification seal for its excellent healthcare quality

In 2022, the Instituto Bernabeu Group has renewed the great recognition of quality it received in 2020 within its firm policy of excellence. The institution renews the two star QH** Certification seal for healthcare quality granted by the Institute for Health Development and Integration (IDIS), which is awarded to healthcare organisations that understand quality as a culture of continuous improvement. The audit committee has adopted this decision after analysing, checking and validating the evidence provided by the Instituto Bernabeu Group. 

The distinction acknowledges centres concerned with the continuous improvement of quality and proper management of its processes, striving to obtain official certifications which attest to this.

During the complicated year that was 2020, when the pandemic was at its worst, the certification entity highlighted obtaining this recognition, as it required an extraordinary effort. The global pandemic strengthened the Institution’s unwavering will to succeed and improve, which even further reinforced the controls and safety measures for patients and staff.

The 10th QH Award Ceremony was held on the 8th of November at the Rosewood Villa Magna Hotel in Madrid, attended by Director of Process Analysis and Healthcare Quality, Elena García Llopis, representing the Instituto Bernabeu Group. “Renewing the QH** Certification for Excellence in Healthcare Quality is a recognition of the effort and involvement of everyone who forms part of the Instituto Bernabeu Group. Concerned with continuous improvement of quality and safety, we have committed to proper management of our processes and to making the decision to obtain official certifications which attest to this,” states Elena García.

The Director of Process Analysis and Healthcare Quality adds that “At the same time, we are very pleased that healthcare organisations are recognised for their commitment to the patient and society, being able to obtain this type of award, as it reinforces the culture of responsibility adopted, and the ethical values of our company. All of this is a true reflection of the trust that our patients have placed in us for their care and wellbeing, and we are therefore comforted by this.”

“Our strength is in people, their talent and enthusiasm. These values being rewarded makes us very proud. More than ever we maintain our commitment to the patient, families and society, supporting quality healthcare for everyone,” she highlights. 

Commitment to quality

The Instituto Bernabeu Group periodically renews its commitment to quality and safety in processes, endorsed by six recognitions at a national and international level. In addition to the QH Quality HealthCare for excellence in healthcare quality is the ISO 9001:2015 standard for Quality Management, along with obtaining the ISO 14001:2015 standard for Comprehensive Environmental Management Systems. The EFQM “committed to excellence” recognition of the European Foundation for management quality highlighted that Instituto Bernabeu was the first Spanish reproductive medicine centre to obtain it. The Group also holds the SEP stamp EFQM (excellent private healthcare), the SEP International and the UNE 179007 certification on Quality Management for Assisted Reproduction Laboratories. 

The quality seals are renewed annually, and each headquarters of Instituto Bernabeu passes internal and external audits by different independent consultants and external certification bodies at a national and international level.

In addition to this, in 2016 the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness distinguished Instituto Bernabeu as an Innovative Company in performing its activity and its capacity for innovation in R&D work.
