O’Sullivan’s Test: Who is it performed for? How is it performed? Why is it performed? And what are the diagnostic values?

O’Sullivan’s Test is performed for pregnant women with no known diabetes. This is done to detect Gestational Diabetes (a type of diabetes developed during pregnancy) by measuring glucose values an hour after administering a 50g oral glucose load. Fasting is not required. It is considered positive when the glucose value is 140 mg/dl or higher.
