Rubén Cano and Ester Tomás win the Rafael Bernabeu Foundation children’s drawing competition on maternity

For the seventh year in a row, the Instituto Bernabeu Social Welfare Foundation has awarded prizes to the winners of the VII edition of the Children’s Drawing Competition in which children represent how they see and understand maternity. Out of over 300 entries, the jury selected 7-year-old Rubén Cano Mateo’s ‘For my super-Mum’ picture in the 5 to 8 years of age category. Ester Tomás, aged 12, was the winner of the 9 to 12 years of age category with her picture entitled ‘Soon there’ll be one more in the family’.

Sómnica Bernabeu, representing the Rafael Bernabeu Foundation, presented the winners with a FNAC store voucher to the value of 300 euros and a certificate. The runners-up were Julio Fuentes López in the 5 to 8 years of age category and Gabriela Chirivella in the 9 to 12 years of age category. They both received a 100 euro FNAC store voucher and a certificate.

The winners, finalists and participants, along with their families, gathered at the FNAC store in Alicante on Wednesday 7^th June for the award ceremony that closed with a woollen kite workshop.

Other pieces of work were also selected in each category and the participants were presented with a gift. The finalists in the 5 to 8 years of age category were Ana Mozo García, Ana Peidro Arévalo, Javier Sánchez Cinos, Jorge Manuel Riquelme Martínez, Lidia Navarro Pinteño, Marta Rodríguez Guillem and Berta Acosta Nebot.

The finalists in the 9 to 12 years of age category were Isabel Martínez Fernández, Jimena Molina Ferrer, Lucía Berenguer Coloma, Nayara Grimalder Hernández, Pau Millán Cabello, Raquel Berenguer Coloma, Ruth Fernández Santiago and Sarah Thifina Zoreli.

Children from the province of Alicante, from Murcia, Albacete, Cartagena and Castellón participated in the seventh edition of the drawing competition in which children illustrate their idea of maternity  The winners and their pictures can be seen on the Instituto Bernabeu website and one the Rafael Bernabeu Foundation website.
