Sara Dalla Costa discusses the future of human reproduction at the SLSA 2025 international conference.

The future of human reproduction poses complex challenges that can only be addressed through interdisciplinary dialogue and rigorous analysis. Our colleague Sara Dalla Costa has contributed to this debate at a leading international forum.

Sara, a lawyer specialising in biolaw and coordinator of Instituto Bernabeu Venice, has participated as a speaker at the Social Legal Annual Conference (SLSA 2025), held this week at the University of Liverpool Law School.

Within the session ‘The Future of Human Reproduction: International Perspectives on the Future of Parenthood and Families’, she presented her paper entitled ‘Human Biomaterial Mobility for Reproductive Purposes’, in which she discussed how the international movement of gametes and embryos reflects broader changes in the concept of parenthood and family structures.

In her presentation, our expert analysed different European legal frameworks and explained how cross-border reproduction is transforming access to parenthood. Her intervention underlined the need for harmonised policies to guarantee ethical and equitable reproductive opportunities at a global level.

At Instituto Bernabeu, we continue to share knowledge and add experiences that reinforce the role of our team as a world reference in human reproduction.
