Instituto Bernabeu in Albacete addresses updates in reproductive medicine on the Master’s Course in Primary Healthcare at the University of Castilla La Mancha

Instituto Bernabeu has participated in the first edition of the Master’s Course in Primary Healthcare at the University Of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM) with an intervention on latest developments in the field of reproductive medicine. The specialist training course is aimed at general practitioners, resident doctors and nursing students and its objectives include increasing participants’ capacity to resolve most of the problems presented by patients who request appointments with their general practitioner, the most proximate level of healthcare. The Master’s Course includes updates on the latest developments in terms of diagnosis and treatment in primary healthcare. It is for this reason that gynaecology and reproductive medicine play a significant role.

Dr Rafael Bernabeu, Medical Director at Instituto Bernabeu, participated in the Master’s Course and addressed students on epidemiology and the current status of assisted reproduction. A further three specialists from Instituto Bernabeu in Albacete have also participated: gynaecologist Lydia Luque addressed assisted reproduction techniques; Dr María Antonia López Rubio addressed analysis of sterile couples and the question of adjuvant pharmaceutical drugs; and Iván Ochando, a biologist at the clinic in Albacete, covered clinical embryology and its application to assisted reproduction techniques.

Instituto Bernabeu has a very close relationship with the community in Castilla La Mancha as well as in university and healthcare environments. For example, the clinic manages the Master’s Course in Male Infertility in collaboration with UCLM, a course which is currently in its third edition.
