Thanks to this technique, 95% of men having serious fertility problems will be able to have their own child. By means of this procedure, only one spermatozoid is placed inside the ovocites to achieve fecundation.

This technique is indicated for the following cases:

  • The amount of spermatozoids is too low, they have limited mobility or have abnormalities.
  • They are correctly formed in the testicle, but they are not present in their ejaculation due to obstructions or to other reasons.
  • The interaction between the ovocites layer and the spermatozoid is not correct and the spermatozoid can not carry on its way.
  • In certain males who lack spermatozoids in their ejaculation.
ICSI

The first pregnancy in Spain (1998) by means of intracytoplasmic injection using spermatids, that is to say, the testicular cells that are not completely distinguished as spermatozoids, was achieved in our Institute.
