Intrauterine insemination of donor
Intrauterine insemination of donor is indicated in two situations:
- Single women or women without a male couple who wish a child with the maximum guarantees as far as biological quality is concerned and in a totally anonymous way.
- Couples who can not solve the male’s problem.
This procedure is similar to the above mentioned one, but with the difference that it uses the sperm of an anonymous donor. This sperm is previously stored and prepared in our Sperm Bank according to the guidelines of Assisted Reproduction Law.
Be aware that the cycle success rate in insemination is between 20%-30%. We rarely advise more than three cycles, because most pregnancies obtained thanks to insemination occur in the first cycles. If gestation is not accomplished, an appointment is arranged with the patients to get the advice of our Reproductive Medicine Committee, where our team of doctors meet in order to evaluate together the clinical case and indicate the couple the steps to follow.
The gestation possibility is the same in every cycle.
