Intrauterine insemination of donor sperm

Intrauterine insemination of donor sperm is generally indicated for:

  • Single women or women without a male partner who wish to have a child using an anonymous donor and with the maximum guarantees as far as biological quality is concerned.
  • Couples who cannot solve male factor infertility.

The intrauterine insemination of donor sperm is similar to the aforementioned procedure, except that it uses an anonymous donor’s sperm. This sperm is previously stored and prepared in our Sperm Bank according to the guidelines of Assisted Reproduction Law in Spain.

Espermatozoides

Please be aware that the cycle success rate in insemination is between 20%-30%.

We rarely recommend more than three cycles because most pregnancies using this technique occur in the first cycle. If fertilisation does not take place, an appointment is arranged so that the patients can be advised by our Reproductive Medicine Committee. Our medical team meets to evaluate the clinical case and inform the couple of their options.

The chances of fertilisation are the same in every cycle.
