History
Since our foundation in the mid 80´s, we have maintanied the vocation and commitment of offering our patients a comprehensive attention in order to give them the best medical care. This commitment is represented with the achivement of quality certificates: ISO 9001, SEP (Sanidad Excelente Privada, Excellent Private Health) and EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management).
Our main goal has always been to reach the best results and to promote the Medical Science progress, therefore we develop the Medical care together with the scientific and teaching research. These two activities enrich each other.
This serious commitment has given its fruits, being the most important ones the following:
- The first IVF pregnancy in the Comunidad Valenciana (Spain), 1987
- The first and only pregnancies obtained with spermatids in Spain.
- The first baby in the world born free from retinoschisis, hereditary blindness, in summer, 2004.
- The first baby in the world born free from Marfan Sydrome, thanks to the MDA technique, February, 2006.
Our Centre directs and impels the Chair of Reproductive Medicine at the University Miguel Hernández (UMH) and the Chair of Biotechnology at the University of Alicante.
So far our Instituto has carried out over a hundred Scientific researchs.
Moreover, the Foundation Rafael Bernabeu Obra Social, that belongs to the Instituto Bernabeu group, develops a wide social role which enables the use of assisted reproduction techniques for those couples without financial resources, as well as research grants to young scientifics in Reproductive Medicine.
Our four clinics IB in Spain; in Alicante, Benidorm, Elche and Cartagena have excellent facilities where a warm and comfortable atmosphere joins pioneer technology.
These characteristics, the experience and know-how of our medical team make our Instituto Bernabeu one of the most prestigious centres in this field.
